About

Nikhil Fernandes is an articling student with The Acacia Group, where he supports the firm’s work across corporate and commercial law, employment and workplace matters, charities and not-for-profits, and litigation. He brings international legal training and experience working with legal teams in Canada, the United States, and India.

Before joining The Acacia Group, Nikhil worked with legal teams in Canada and the United States, gaining experience across a range of legal and regulatory matters. He is also licensed to practise law in India.

At Acacia, Nikhil assists with legal research, drafting, corporate and governance matters, contract work, and the preparation of materials for litigation and administrative proceedings. He approaches his work with an emphasis on careful analysis, attention to detail, practical problem-solving, and clear communication.

Having lived in India, the Philippines, and Canada, Nikhil brings an international perspective to his work and an appreciation for the different legal, professional, and organizational considerations that can arise for clients.

Nikhil earned his BLS LL.B. dual degree from the University of Mumbai, where he was awarded a scholarship for academic merit.
